It's all about networking. Meeting and interacting with professionals from other companies within the ABC Southeastern Pennsylvania (ABC SEPA) Chapter is the primary focus of the yearly construction expo, and the 2008 convention offered an abundance of opportunities for the sharing of information and gratuities.

On Feb. 28, Keares Electric participated in the ABC Construction Expo 2008, which ran from noon to 6 p.m. and was held in the Pennsylvania Room at the Valley Forge Convention Center. Throughout the duration of the event, Keares Electric was able to speak of and show the capabilities of the company, as well as gain new contacts within the construction industry and converse with other fine companies with which Keares has performed work.

"We got to meet general contractors like Delran Builders, who have expressed interest in us looking at jobs, including one current job in New Jersey," said Bob Keares. president of Keares Electric. "Also, from a business aspect, we made several contacts with different vendors such as health care and bonding services. That could ultimately make us become even more competitive."

Keares Electric Project Manager Jon Williams was aware of the importance of the expo, as well. "You don't realize how many companies are actively involved with your trade until you go to one of these expos," said Williams. "It shows you that everyone is competing for your business including ordering paper, renting lifts, storage containers, etc... and there will always be a lower price and better service out there. You just got to spend the time to go out there and find it."

Keares was also pleased that his company had the opportunity to showcase some of the business' recent accomplishments, including completed jobs, CAD work, the organization's newsletter, and in general the overall success of the company.

Additionally, Keares was glad that two of the company's field workers, Travis Fleming and Fabio Silva, were able to attend the event and interact with other industry professionals.
