Best Western
Keares Electric, working with Delran Builders, is currently under construction of a three-story Best Western Hotel in King of Prussia, PA. Rob Sage is the lead foreman for the project has been assisted by Jeff Eagle, Steve May, and Victor Soto. Rich DeRemigio, Preston Lindeman, Jimmy Creswell, and Pache Torres also helped with some of the demo and large wire pulls.
Steve Hoopes and John Rutter have been worked on the excavation for the new service. With the experience Rob and Jeff had from completing the Fairfield Inn Hotel, they were an easy choice to complete this one, and are exciting about digging into this one full force. The project consists of demolishing an existing wing of the current hotel, and then constructing a new large wing that will feature 68 new rooms. The demolition also included removal of (02) existing utility transformers, service, site and building lighting, and a generator. New construction will be completed while the hotel remains in operation, which means morning work hours are limited from 8:00 AM on if machines are going to be used. There will be a new 2500A service provided that includes a substation with an internally mounted utility transformer located in the basement. There will also be a new 60KW generator. In addition to the new lighting and power systems, there will also be a fire alarm and rescue assistance system that will tie back into the existing portion of the hotel that remains. The existing pool and cabana will be re-fed from the new service as well.
While new construction has just begun, there was plenty of work that needed to be completed prior to any new work being started. The police tactical force came in and used the wing that was being demolished for training. They blew holes in the walls, shot through glass, and knocked down walls. It really would have been neat to be on site and watch all the damaged they caused. New construction will be in full swing next month with completion scheduled for the end of July. Stay tuned for updates…
