2010 ABC Excellence in Construction Awards Ceremony

On Tuesday, July 13, 2010 KEARES Electric attended the 21st annual ABC Excellence in Construction Awards Gala in Camp Hill, PA. KEARES was represented by President Bob Keares and Project Manager Matt Auker. At the ceremony, KEARES Electric was awarded the “Specialty Contractor Sustainable Green Award” for the Aqua- Ingrams Mill Solar Farm located in West Chester, PA. The project received the highest score in its class to receive the honor. All project submissions were reviewed and judged based on project criteria, schedule, obstacles that had to be overcome, safety, outstanding/unique features, and for this specific category, Green/LEED standards. It was the first time KEARES Electric received this award, which has only been given out one other time. It was great to be a part of the Keares Team that received this award for the first time, and it was really neat to see the showcase of other projects completed in the area that also won awards. KEARES is geared up and ready to sweep the awards next year in all (03) categories- “Specialty Contractor Electrical Under $250,000”, “Specialty Contractor Electrical Over $250,000”, and a repeat of “Specialty Contractor Sustainable Green Award”.

Merit Award for West Chester Area

On Wednesday, November 18, Keares Electric was awarded the prestigious MERIT Award by the Southeast PA Chapter of the Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC).

Keares Electric was entered into the category of “Specialty-Electrical Under $1M”. The West Chester Area YMCA was an outstanding project that was impressive in nature and caught the eye of the committee of judges who reviewed all applications. Brian Marinari was responsible for the application submission of the project as well as touring the facility with the committee of judges back in September. It wasn’t until mid-October that Keares Electric was notified about the award, which we were asked to keep confidential until the Awards Banquet.

“Being recognized for the quality work we do in this industry is truly rewarding. Having our names announced at the Awards Banquet, to the applause of our peers, customers, and competitors, means that Keares Electric is identifying itself as a leader in our industry. Through continued quality work and a focused effort on the Safety of our employees, Keares Electric will continue to separate itself from the rest of the pack, and emerge as the gold-standard of Electrical Contracting” said Brian Marinari after the Awards Banquet.

Chris Reilly, who played a vital role from beginning to end of the YMCA project, was also on hand at the Awards Banquet to receive the award. Chris was one of the first Keares Electric employees on the project and worked closely with Lee Miller who oversaw the installation of the Electric Service as well as the wiring and connections to the numerous quantities of pool equipment.

Keares Electrical Wins Gold for Safety!

Keares Electric has recently been awarded a GOLD Level for Safety, from the Association of Buildings and Contractors.

Through the ABC’s “S.T.E.P” program (Safety Training and Evaluation Process), Keares Electric was recognized for the overall improvements made to keeping our employees SAFE! Much of this success has been a result of the Safety Committee, who continually looks for ways to communicate and enforce Safety from all employees.

As a reminder, The Keares Electric Safety Committee’s Mission is:
“Keares Electric strives to insure a safe working environment where work activity risks are eliminated or properly controlled, for all our employees. The safety of all employees in our care is a major concern and we are dedicated to providing leadership and economic support to maintain a safe environment that will be achieved by continually monitoring and assessing facilities and working methods.”
